This hawk kept circling over my head. I had my NEX-3 with a 70-150mm Vivitar attached and kept snapping away.

Not sure why the sky ended up so many different colors, but it might have to do with constantly turning to catch him as he flew all around me. I was in AWD at the time, so that might have added to the inconsistent coloring.

    thanks

Looked better than I thought they would.

The lens is by far my favorite. It has a long reach, plus has a Macro mode. Unfortunately it starts at 70mm.

    Hi Dave,
Great pictures of hawk and I think the sky gives different shades due to different angles under open sky and it was due to natural lighting.
I like the first picture most. Thanks for sharing with everyone.

And they say you can't do BIF shots with a NEX. Ha! :D

Nice shots. Anthoney is right, the differing sky coloring is natural depending on which way you are facing in relation to the sun. Can be fixed in PP if you want a uniform look between pics.

Impressive detail for a lens which doesn't give a ton of reach.

    Found again

Some more shots. He likes to hang out atop this flag pole.

All handheld with a 18-210 Vivitar.

Cool set dude, The image quality is really excellent. The shot with the flag has a very patriotic atmosphere and I love the irony of the other images of a bird perched on a perched bird.

Yes, great MF shots Davect01 especially on tele!

Makes me wonder if the hawk before realizing the cast bird wasn't real, ever attacked it? :)
