Yesterday I got myself a nex 6 and I'll be going on a trip may 21st and wanted a spare battery just in case. Also a battery for 5R but don't want to pay 89.99 for the Sony battery here in Canada. Can someone recommend me a good battery? Thanks

I've been happy with the Wasabi batteries from bluenook.com. They work in both the 6 and 7 and charge in the 7's charger -- never tried in-camera charging.

+1 for WASABI. I always use the wall charger. I rotate 4 batteries and always carry at least 2 every time I go out with my NEX-6.

I've been buying spare batteries from Sterlingtek since 2007.

Heard good things about Wasabi, too.

Wasabi. Good for the price. But they drain waaaay faster than the original Sony batteries.

Try Sterlingtek. I don't see a difference in battery use.

Oem batteries are almost half the price after shipping and duties from b&h....I am not too comfortable putting an off brand in the camera....some of them tend to overheat....for a few bucks more, . I order the oem product....but that's my 2 cents.
