I have had fun experimenting with B&W lately. Any C&C are appreciated!

Like the first one, the luminosity in the sky is beautiful.

Thanks Dave. The sky in this shot was crazy, it had a sense of depth and motion in it. Sort of like a giant paper airplane that was partially unfolded and stuck up there.

@ Ad and Woods: Yeah, this one is my pick of the litter too. This is going to be the picture that drives me to shoot RAW because the color version that was the next shot I took is 'compositionally challenged' and this one I monkeyed with it in iPhoto as far as I could take it and then did some curve adjustments in Pixelmator.

Thanks Jeff! These pics were a result of a focused effort to see what the kit lens really could do. Since I got the NEX6, I liked the versatility and OSS of the kit lens, but found it pretty soft at wider apertures and distorted at the wide end. After reading Woods recommendation in another thread https://www.talkemount.com/showthread.php?t=5809 I gave the kit lens another go using smaller apertures and was surprised with the results.

...little grayish (2nd the most) for my taste, but nice otherwise.

I hear you Matti...the sky is very muted in that one, occupies a lot of the frame and isn't as interesting.
