Aperture lessons at the Drive In

    Learning ... practicing ... enjoying :dance: For the SONY pic, used the Macro option on the Nex 6 with original lens. Was having difficulty getting the focus on the lettering and away from the black part of the camera case. Suggestions on what to do to improve welcome.

    I miss the drive-in.

    As to your focusing, I would guess you were to close to the lenses minimum range.

    Manual focus is almost always the preferred method in macro photography. If you're shooting handheld, get the focus close to what you want, then gently move the camera toward/away from the subject and take the shot when the desired spot comes into focus.
