American Goldfinch Attacked by another bird

    After taking the photo of the Goldfinch with a SF seed in its beak, I was squeezing off a second shot when the attack happened just as the 2nd shot was executing…(2nd photo)…don’t know what the 2nd bird was that attacked the intruding Goldfinch but thought the photo was worth keeping in spite of the fast action blur.

    Great shots ! Especially impressive to me since I wouldn't know a goldfinch from a canary even if one pooped on me ;)

    Do you have the camera pre-set on a tripod ?

    Most bird shots are in a large natural back yard setting that also has woods right behind it...several tree trunk feeders I've made and stood up have different food types and if I pre-focus on one, I'll miss what shows up at the majority of bird shots are taken out of the kitchen window with the camera & lens on a beanbag, or at least my arms resting on the window sill.
