Check out what I stumbled upon on the Amazon Warehouse Deals.
Wow, wish I could find a deal like that
My guess is that Sony has some sort of deal with Amazon, because Amazon doesn't have any used inventory of the A7 II. Perhaps they send most back to get sold as refurbished cameras? Though I'm still not sure how a few Sony bodies trickle to be sold as used inventory for rock bottom prices? Also used A7 II prices are still hovering around $1000 USD! Maybe a Sony A7 III is coming soon?
Can't even get a used one with that price!
Lucky you! All gone.
Was that price for a new or used body?
Used price for one their open box/returned bodies.
Guess the next question is, how many did you buy?
Haha, they only had that one! Actually I've been thinking of getting another A7 II to supplement my portrait work, since I've been leaning more towards adapted and legacy lenses. Though, I'm not sure if they had other bodies listed and they disappeared as well?
A few years back I also scored a like-new NEX-6 with 16-50mm kit lens for $125 on Amazon Warehouse. I played with that combo for a bit and eventually sold each separately for a small profit! Deals do pop up every so-often!
My deal searching days have dropped off as I'm now trying to concentrate on 'using' what I already have.
I've been thinking of getting a second Sony body for awhile. I've been putting a lot of clicks on my A7 II. I was considering getting an original A7, but I prefer the A7 II due to being more versatile with AF adapters and the IBIS.
You should sell it to me for $800 - make a profit too, lol
Seriously, nice score man!!!
The A7 II arrived today. Everything looked good and clean. Unfortunately it was a repackaged camera with a missing box, but it came with all the accessories. It also had 428 shutter clicks on it after checking a file online. I'll think if I should still keep it?
Even with 428 shutter activations, that's a great deal!
I'd keep it.
I know, I was just being silly! I remember a couple months back Amazon Warehouse dumped a bunch of A7 II bodies for cheap, it might be worth keeping tabs on now. I guess it's good for us, because it's keeping resale of the cameras high. Maybe a lot of photographers were upset because of the A6500 coming out so soon? Though it seems the A7 II is one of the top selling cameras in Japan and I've been seeing quite a few A7 bodies of different variations in the wild.
