I'm slowly exploring the fascinating world of adapted lenses and I found a few interesting pieces of glass. Unfortunately, I'm still very new to the world of photography and I'd love some advice on these two lenses:

    1. Makinon 24-50mm 3.3-4.5 Macro
    2. Vivitar Series 1 28-105mm 2.8-3.9

Both are in mint condition. The Makinon comes with both caps, the original case and even the original box! The Vivitar comes with both caps and original (leather?) case.

Any advice on what I should do with these?

Figure out what lens mount they are for, buy adapter(s) and try them out of course! :)

The Vivitar 1's are of great report, some of the best mass produced of their era.

The Makinon, never heard of before.

Vivitar did not produce any lenses, they designed and marketed them. Series 1 were produced by a variety of makers - this particular lens is Cosina-made and seems to have some focusing issues:
    Laur's photo blog: Vivitar Series 1 35-85/2.8 and 28-105/2.8-3.8
Makinon was a japanese producer from the 70s and had a lesser reputation than Kiron/Komine/Tamron. This particular lens seems to attract attention due to its dedicated macro ring:
Makinon 24-50mm MACRO 1:3 MD to M42 on MkII

IMHO, if you already own these lenses (or could get them dirt cheap - below 15$), could be interesting to try them. Otherwise, I would look elsewhere...
