As a general guideline, we ask that images posted in the forum are 1600px or less in maximum dimension out of consideration for members on lower and/or metered bandwidth internet connections.

This "Hi-Res" subforum is the exception. Feel free to post your super-large panos, full-res images, and anything else you'd like to show in high resolution in this subforum.

Hope everyone enjoys the new subforum!

Uploads to the forum are still resized. The only way to post larger is to host off-site.

    Nice work Amin!

[unlo] Flickr with their constant 'stream' of buggy updates aren't going to win you over. If anything, old supporters like myself are prepared to abandon ship!

I guess I'm lazy. For a free terabyte of space, I'll put up with a few bugs. :p

Ha! That's one of the reasons I'm still there. :) Plus, the community of great photographers still using it.

OK, I'm gonna try this. Don't be surprised if I misunderstood something...

    Cash_Lake_Panorama_b_zps97ts3p9f.

OK, how do you make the magnifier work?

Well that one didn't work very well did it?

    Here's another big pic:

OK, I've fiddled around enough. I need some guidance!

When I mouse over your two images, the loupe pops up for me on both of them, but it doesn't magnify what's inside the loupe. I'm not sure why it's not working, Tom. What are the pixel dimensions of your images?

Hm. I can't seem to get the loupe to pop up on this one. Maybe you can't enlarge your own images. Does the loupe magnify anything for the rest of you?

Edit: Once I logged out and logged back in, it seems to work fine.

    David,
Now I see the loupe on mine too (but as you described, it doesn't magnify - nor does it on yours). The pixel dimensions on my two are (1, the IR one) is 4277 x 9612 HxW, and (2, the Summer Colorado Landscape) is 4708 x 16916 HxW.

... edit ... I wonder if the magnification is based on height alone (mine are much shorter than they are wide - single image height panoramas)?

FWIW, the loupe works fine for me on all of the photos in this thread

But does it magnify roundball? My loupe comes up now, but on my panos it doesn't seem to magnify much at all.

@slothead@slothead - the forum software is resizing your images so they aren't 4000px wide anymore. To use the hig-res feature, you have to host them off-site (eg Flickr) and then embed them here using BBcode.

Screenshots: Normal and then a Loupe section.
With the Loupe I can tell which way the pickup trucks are headed.
