Is there a remote that will work on both my Nex-7 and A7ii?

Christmas is coming and I'm being asked to put together a list. Figured a remote would come in real handy.

Unless the NEX 7 is different from the NEX 6 and 5T which I have owned or used. Pretty much all remotes that work with one, works with the other.

That's what I'm hoping Gary as it's always easier to keep things simple when dealing with two cameras.

    Interesting topic.
My NEX5R remote also works on my Nikon 1 J1.
Going be getting an A7M2 soon, so hopefully it will work on at too.
    Paid $15.00 Canadian for it.

I’ve had the same, cheap eBay (Opteka) remote since my NEX-6, and it has worked on an A7, A7II, and I just checked, works on an A7RII II.

My neighbor gave me an Opteka when he went from Sony to Nikon. It's worked sporadically on my Nex-7. I think it should work on my A7ii but am not sure. I don't know if it's me, the buttons or the battery in the remote. Could be all three things. Maybe I'll investigate more thoroughly.

My Remote Commander for my elderly A900 works with my A7Rii.

You need to buy one that works for your Sony. It costs less than $10. Spare yourself the headache

If you have an Android phone with IR blaster, install ShutterBOT app and it works great as a simple trigger remotely.
I have a Samsung Note 3. With ShutterBOT installed, it works on all 3 of my Sony cameras.

My phone is dumb, but still better than looking for a pay phone.
