A7RII and FE55 1.8. I have such mixed feelings about this camera. On the one hand I think 42m megapixels is overkill and then I open up an image and it has a three d pop that I love. I can't tell you how many times I've packed this camera back up ready to return......

    Great images!

Did you solve that "softness/unsharpness" issue that you reported you were getting with the A7Rii?

I think they just need a lot more contrast added but still, I don't think I need all the pixels!

Just sold my A7r and some lenses. Picked up the a7rii, should be on its way now. Excited and nervous, lost my day job about a month ago, shouldn't really be spending the money right now.

Guess I can sell my A7ii also, I won't feel as bad then.

Sorry to har about your job. Ive got two months left on full salary from mine and I'll be taking two classes during that period, human physiology and "molecules of live". Then I'll better something to pay the bills.

Tried the camera, didn't have time to put a card in, the evf doesn't seem as good as the a7ii. Is it just me? Can anyone comment? Just doesn't seem as sharp. Hard to manual focus even with peeking with legacy.

image. Downloaded onto iPhone and posted. Not sure what lens this was as I was switching between
    3. 55,12 35,2 and 85 1,8

    Think it was the 35.

I've just tried my 50mm Zeiss 1.5 Sonnar. I only have the FE55 1.8 af lens. I find it quite difficult to focus even using the maximum 12x magnification. Peaking is useful but I'd rather see a magnified view to be certain. I've been trying to gather my thoughts this week. I think that it's quite capable of taking stunningly sharp photos but other than that I feel it's rendition is rather clinical. For me, the af isn't improved that much for what I use it for. It has far more pixels than I'll ever need. The shutter sound is much nicer than the A7R but it seems rather a steep price to pay for these minor upgrades. Also in my mind is the fact that in a year it will probably have halved in value. Almost ready to let it go I think

That's pretty much where I get stuck every time I entertain the idea of buying an A7RII. :rolleyes-20:

I really want to like it but I just don't, if anything it's made me see how much more character the Leica has.
