    Hi folks,

well finally bit the bullet after months of will/ I wont I. Yesterday I bought a A7r! :)

What made me finally buy it was getting my beautiful canon fd 55mm f1.2, far and away the sharpest and fastest lens I have ever owned. Having tested it on the 36mp a7r it out resolves the sensor and produces hilarious detail, almost too much to use! (Ill do some proper work with it and post results at some point here is a quick sample from today totally unprocessed default LR from RAW)

    <iframe src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/mathieu_decodts_photography/12891941713/player/b345d038b5" height="683" width="1024" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen></iframe>

So I have a few really nice canon fd lenses and hated the fact that a great deal of what they can do is wasted on a cropped sensor.

So that is the rational for the full frame a7r. I picked it because it doubles my lens collection and I wasn't interested in the A7 because I am a manual focus guy, with occasional AF.

Now to the purpose of this post. I also have some lovely nex lenses in the sigma 30mm and 60mm DX art lenses. Both lovely sharp lenses, but designed for cropped sensors, or so I though.

Having snooped about on the net it seems a little bit of work to remove a plastic baffle does wonders to the vignette.

Turn out it does, see for yourself. format is lens as bought and then with baffle removed, all shot wide open.

    (WHOA!) :D

Some dramatic results I think you will agree.

Very impressed with both sigma lenses, AF is lightening fast, in dull living room at night lighting it takes about half a second? no hunting at all.
