A Way to Bring Computational Photography to Your Camera?

An ad for this device popped up on Facebook today. I'd never seen it before. I'm trying to decide if this really is a way to bring computational photography to our dedicated cameras, or whether it's just an extra Intelligent Auto algorithm on top of what our own camera might (or might not) offer. Has anyone else seen this or know anything about it?

I recall some discussion about it over on FM back when it first came out, mostly negative. They had a lot of problems with Sony cameras in particular, I think, though I would think those were resolved by now. It essentially works as if you were tethered with a computer, and so manipulates the image(s) after capture. I think a lot of what it does is probably achievable in post, but this would (perhaps) be much simpler. That's about all I know.
