A little ragged looking from feeding youngsters sunup to sundown

    That "perch tree" has a wall of deep dark woods behind it...notice some faint dark green from tree leaves on the right side.
    Then the combination of Spot Metering and shallow DOF ends up with that dark background and virtually no detail.

    I'd like to say I planned it that way but truth is I had no idea when I placed that 6' "perch tree trunk" there.
    But any more set-ups in the future I plan to follow that same approach...I like the separation...looks like a studio portrait.
