I was in Florida and it was the first time I had the opportunity to really take some shots with my NEX 6. I now know why it is recommended to have some learning time at home and not to buy a new camera for vacation. Unfortunately it just worked out that the purchase was close to the time I was going away. I have a lot of learning to do, but I did get several decent images mixed in with the inevitable misses. Here are several (one of them isn't nature). They were shot either with the kit power zoom (flower and boat) or the 55-210 (birds and orangutan).

Well, maybe they all didn't work, but the ones that did work worked well. :)

Thanks guys. It's funny how when I first started looking back at the shots my initial reaction was slight disappointment. I even wondered if everything was working correctly, LOL. I think I just expected that every shot would be amazing, which is kind of ridiculous. Then, when I looked more objectively I realized that I did have some really great images. It's so easy to be overly critical.

Nice work, Jazzer. I particularly like the indoor shot of the glass marbles.

    Thanks again.

Jaf, your comment about the glass marbles is appreciated, and it also made me realize that there is no sense of scale in that photo to help the viewer. That image is actually of a smaller, but full-sized (scale) boat filled with hand-blown glass spheres that was on exhibit.

I would guess it was maybe about 6 feet long. A small row boat.

Wow, then the glass spheres must have been rather large!

Yes, they were. Some probably about the size of a volley ball. Here's another shot from the glass exhibit. This is a chandelier. DSC00396.

Very cool, but I wouldn't want to have to dust it. ;)
