After using this lens for the first time outdoors today I am wondering if I made the right choice in buying the CZ 24mm

This FL 1.2 is an amazing lens. Especially from 1967.

You are right, the lens you have is great!

You can keep the 24mm for closer work, and the 55mm for further out work.

Thanks, can't believe the deal I got on this lens. Believe me, I know these pics are no award winners but I was just posting to show the pop and clarity.

The 55 is great but the 24 is gonna be a lot better at 24 than the 55 will. Nothing profound, just stating the obvious. Nothing to see here, move along. :p

Just so happens I have both of these. (FL 55/1.2 and SEL24.) One being over double the focal length of the other, I'd say they cover very different functions, so you would be entirely justified in keeping and roaming around with both. I would also say you would be very hard-pressed to find any better performers at those focal lengths.

As you get to know your SEL24, I think you will find it exhibits a certain "3D pop" that Zeiss lenses are prized for.
