I just discovered that Sony charges "just" 819 Euro for the 24mm f/1.8 Carl Zeiss lens here in Austria. Strange, because in Germany they sell it for 999 Euro! :O
I instantly checked the prices elsewhere, and in the german online shops which are usually the cheapest (normally it's ALWAYS cheaper to import from Germany than buy in Austria) are all selling it from 970 up. Then I checked Austria stores ... they sell it for 799 Euro! One store has it in stock - for 826 shipped. A look on the EU prize comparison reveals that it's nowhere as cheap as here in Austria.
So what's the reason for this? A mistake from Sony? The taxes in Austria are actually HIGHER than in Germany, so I don't know whats up ... Now I wish I could spend that much money on a lens (I actually have it, but I somehow refuse to spend it on a single lens
).
