Got out today to the beach with my little one, and took the Nex and my recently purchased Rokkor 50mm 1.7 lens.

Found it hard to keep the little one still whilst trying to focus so a lot of spoilt ones, but these are a couple of keepers.

    Very impressed with this lens!

Ya, bright light, bright background makes manual peaking focus a bit difficult.

However these are pretty nice. No complaints here.

THanks for the nice comments and welcome

Im a converted Canon lover (SLR and Bridge) and have always loved Canon, but the appeal of these old lenses really made me want to go and get the nex, its a great piece of kit (but i guess you know that :) ) and my Canon Bridge camera (SX30IS) will be going up on Ebay now as im converted...still retaining my SLR (40D) as it has the edge on some things but for every day (and more ) photography, Imsold!!

Looking forward to some spring and summer (hopefully as we get a lot of rain in South Wales) activities to really try this out along with some other lenses ive bought off Ebay!

    Thanks again!

Interesting how your shots still have that "Canon look" (blue- and magenta-biased) even after switching to Sony. They look like high-end shots for a family/lifestyle magazine.

I find I need to struggle with processing to make my NEX colors pop. I don't know if it's the lens coatings, filter array, or Lightroom's demosaicing, but my D700 RAWs are saturated from the get-go, while my Sony files look drab. (Sorry for the rant, LOL.)

    Again, great stuff. :)
