All of a sudden, the battery door of my α6500 won't fully open.

It is jammed "softly" in that flexing it a little allows the battery and memory card to be removed/inserted, making the issue not fatal.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem, and how was it solved? The replacement cost ($49.99) is high, and nothing appears to be broken, simply jammed (some foreign object, maybe).

I have looked at the video explaining how to disassemble the α6000, and getting to the battery door seems to require that a lot of parts be removed.

I'm looking for ideas.

Thanks in advance.

Can you see what is jamming it? I would guess it is something in the hinge. Just an idea - maybe a little compressed air right on the hinge? Might blow something out.

Never experienced this before. But the door is user removable for the battery grip, therefore it should have 'latches at the pivots' to disengage. Take the door off and inspect for foreign matter in the area.

The instructions for the battery grip mention the small rubber plug on the battery door, not the door itself.
