    Samyang 12mm lens

Haha well I'm 31 years old but am pretty late to the game, just got serious a year ago about my photography. Before that I only had point and shoots. I did shoot film until a decade ago when I first went digital but never developed my own.

    Samyang 12mm lens

I can't recommend this lens highly enough. At $600 cheaper than the Zeiss Touit it's an amazing performer. The vignetting is the only downside I notice frequently but it usually isn't even noticeable with the way I post process, I enjoy some vignetting. It only gets out of control when I use a...

    any new emount camera coming?

Love my a6000, just wish there was something like a 100mm 2.8 for macro/portraits...the only native macro lenses available are 30mm and 50mm.

Will A7R ever compare to A6000's AF and and focus points?

Actually the A7 does have 117 phase detect points, similar hybrid AF to the A6000 with less focus points. A7R only has contrast focus points for whatever reason. Making the A7 seem to be a much better value in my eyes. Personally I love my A6000, especially the crazy good auto focus. Oh and as a...

    First lens to buy

I love ultra wide shots but I'd never have it as my first or primary lens. I got my a6000 body only with the Sony 35mm 1.8 for my first lens till my finances allow the ultra wide. Agree with Poki all the way for recommendations. Sent from my Nexus 7 using TalkEmount mobile app

    A6000 First Impressions

Dbmiller, I quickly noticed the same problem with my Manfrotto mounting plate being very large and sticking out a lot and getting in the way of the tilting LCD. Also without the plate my Black Rapid connector also inhibits the screen tilt a bit as well, but I'll just have to put up with it since...

I've got a bad case of GAS - what next?

In your situation I'd go with the 16-70mm as a high quality all around standard zoom. Sometimes it's nice to not have to switch between 2 or 3 primes. Personally I'd get the 10-18mm, I love my ultra wide lens for landscape and architecture. Sent from my SCH-I535 using TalkEmount mobile app

Did your a6000 come with a cover plate / blank for the hot shoe ?

Seems like a misunderstanding to me as well, but either way there should always be room for differing opinions. Normally when I post a thread online it isn't only to receive pats on the back and people agreeing with my view. I also see a hot shoe blank as a very very minor thing to have a...

    A6000, a huge success?

Mine just shipped from B&H so I'm looking forward to that. From all the positive reviews and pre-orders I'm just hoping it means continued support for the e-mount system and therefore more lenses and bodies, both crop and full frame from both Sony and 3rd party companies. Sent from my SCH-I535...

    Huge Sony sale!

Any idea how long these sales usually last? Sent from my SCH-I535 using TalkEmount mobile app

    Sigma 60mm issues?

Another question on the subject of this lens. Is it true none of the Sigma's can use Sony's super fast hybrid AF? Such as on the a6000? Sent from my SCH-I535 using TalkEmount mobile app

    A6000 Announced: Replaces NEX-6, mixes in a bit of NEX-7 and A7

Very encouraged by those dxomark results, especially since I have the a6000 on pre-order haha Sent from my Nexus 7 using TalkEmount mobile app

    Leaving Nikon for Sony

Yah Fundadores most likely I'll end up with the 10-18mm since on my d5200 I had the 10-24mm so I've never had a prime ultra wide and am used to some zoom versatility. I did have a 35mm and 85mm 1.8s so I do want at least one good prime to fall back on for higher sharpness and bokeh and low...

    Leaving Nikon for Sony

Yah sadly I sold all my Nikon glass Woodworks, wanted to get native glass for the a6000 for the size and being optimized for the platform. And I just wanted a fresh start. I will miss my 85mm especially, sharpest lens ever lol. Sent from my SCH-I535 using TalkEmount mobile app

    Leaving Nikon for Sony

Thanks for the input deadbear. I definitely have seen the love that everyone has for that Zeiss 24mm, helps that it's a focal length I would use a lot more often compared to the 50mm. I love my landscapes and architecture so wide and ultra wide are my favorites. As long as I get a good copy of...

    Leaving Nikon for Sony

Well I joined this forum because I pre-ordered my a6000 after a couple dozen hours of mirrorless camera research. Forced me to leave Nikon since the 1 series wasn't worth buying which saddened me since I was fairly heavily invested in Nikon (relative to my income). Had been leaving my d5200 and...

    A6000 Announced: Replaces NEX-6, mixes in a bit of NEX-7 and A7

Getting really excited for this for this release so I just joined this forum. I already pre-ordered my a6000 so this forum is a treasure trove of info for me especially regarding lenses. Sold my Nikon d5200 and lenses to fund this side-grade (not an upgrade really) to get into the mirrorless...
