I'd just add you will trade a very light setup for quite a monster. You just grab a nice 180 nikon ASI ED or Canon FD 200, both f/2.8 and produce sharper shots than any zoom.

Nikon RF 50/1.4 Right out of the camera :) This is actually very famous lens: world's first f/1.4 designed around the zeiss 50/1.5 but very different in actual use. Wide open it does the wild things; which many hate, but I love :) Oh wait I said all that in first shot of thread I think.
