The iF design awards are just announced - and Sony got one! Well, actually they got a few, but one for the E-Mount: The NEX-5R! Additionally, the Zeiss 12mm f/2.8 and the Zeiss 32mm f/1.8 got one - the latter got even a gold award! This is especially noticeable as not even the mighty Zeiss 55mm 1.4 or their two nominated Master Primes got a gold award.

The links don't work - again ... There seems to be some sort of session time out. Whatever, they're easy to find on the iF website under online gallery.

Zeiss 32? No one seems to have seen one in the wild yet; but it's winning awards? A little early I think -- even for exterior design.

The award not only covers exterial design, so I think they got a copy early.

They may be big relatively spoken, but they're still far smaller and lighter than comparable high-end SLR lenses.
