About the New Kit 16-50mm Lens for the NEX-6:

I have the NEX-7. Has anybody heard when the kit 16-50mm. will be available for the other NEX's?
Will the new firmware #1.02 make other improvements other then making the new 16-50mm. kit more usable for the NEX-7? I haven't installed it yet because I don't have the 16-50mm. yet so would there be other advantages if I did install it?
I haven't heard any reports on how good this lens is yet. Is it as good as the old 18-55mm. that went with my NEX-7 ?

Woodworks has a 16-50 and likes it. Not sure what else the firmware update has for the 7, but you lose nothing by installing it even if you don't have the 16-50 yet.

If you can live with not having a box they are available on ebay as "new- removed from kit." As to when they will be available as stand alone items, who knows?
