I know folks love their primes but this and the MD 35-70/3.5 macro are pretty darned good as well.
Looks like a nice lens and a very pleasant image.
Is it a true Macro, or simply marketed as such?
I have one actually 1:1 Macro lens and two that are labeled Macro, but would be lucky to go to 1:2.
It's just like the MD 35-70/3.5 and 70-210/4...not a true macro. I also have the MC 50/3.5 with tube which is a true macro but I find the closeup ability of these lenses (1:4 and 1:7) works really well for me.
I find that my three MD Zooms are plenty sharp, have good OOF areas and are really flexible. Of the three I own the 35-70/3.5 is probably the best optically but the 35-105 is a very convenient range.
I too have two similarly marked "Macro" lenses that are technically not Macro, but still are pleasant enough.
May I ask what adapter do you use?
